Mahottari District Administration Launches Passport Home Delivery Service

Janakpurdham. With the objective of providing convenient and effective services to the public, the District Administration Office, Mahottari, has implemented a new system for passport distribution. Service seekers can now receive their passports directly at their home addresses.

The service was launched following an agreement between the District Administration Office, Mahottari, and the District Post Office, in line with point no. 27 of the Government of Nepal's 100-point governance reform agenda.

To ensure the effective implementation of the service, Administrative Officer Kameshwar Yadav of the District Administration Office, Mahottari, and Postal Officer Ramchandra Sah of the District Post Office, Mahottari, signed a memorandum of understanding to initiate the passport delivery service.

Under the agreement, passports will be securely delivered via the Nepal Postal Service to the address provided by the applicant. The Post Office will be responsible for the secure transport of passports, verifying the recipient's identity upon delivery, and maintaining records of the distribution.

Previously, applicants were required to visit the office in person to collect their passports; this new system is expected to save time, reduce costs, and eliminate inconvenience. It is anticipated that citizens in rural areas will benefit the most from this initiative.

The office has urged applicants to provide clear and accurate address and contact details when filling out application forms. Furthermore, with the aim of strengthening coordination between the relevant agencies for effective service delivery, Administrative Officer Kameshwar Yadav on behalf of the District Administration Office, Mahottari, and Postal Officer Ramchandra Sah on behalf of the District Post Office, Mahottari, signed the agreement to move forward with passport-related operations.
