Over 2,600 Drivers Penalized for Traffic Violations in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. In the past 24 hours, 2,692 drivers have been penalized for violating traffic regulations. This has resulted in a revenue collection of NPR 760,000 for the state treasury.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 91 individuals for driving under the influence, 63 for operating vehicles in poor mechanical condition, 224 for violating traffic signals, and 132 for speeding.

Similarly, 237 drivers were penalized for failing to maintain lane discipline, 47 for operating public vehicles with doors open, 78 for honking in prohibited areas, 40 for violating rules regarding designated passenger boarding and alighting points, and 1,780 for various other traffic rule violations.
