Father arrested in Kathmandu for allegedly raping his teenage daughter

Kathmandu. Police have arrested a father in Boudha, Kathmandu, on charges of raping his daughter. A 30-year-old man has been taken into custody for the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl.

The teenager, originally from Panchthar and residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, Boudha, filed a complaint at the Boudha Police Circle on Chaitra 27, alleging she had been raped. Following the registration of the complaint, DSP Santosh Roka of the Boudha Police Circle has initiated an investigation against the accused.

SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, told Rato Pati that the accused was arrested in Nepalgunj on Baishakh 8 while returning to Nepal from Raxaul, India. The Boudha Police Circle is conducting an investigation after obtaining a remand from the court.

Officials involved in the investigation state that the man involved in the rape had moved to Bangalore, India, a year ago. There, he reportedly married a second woman. The victim's mother has been working abroad in the Gulf for the past three years.

The victim is currently staying with relatives in Boudha.
