Foreign Minister Khanal and Sri Lankan Ambassador Delpitiya Hold Courtesy Meeting

Kathmandu. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal and the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal, Her Excellency Ruwanthi Delpitiya, held a courtesy meeting on Thursday.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there was an in-depth discussion on further strengthening the historical ties between Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The Ministry stated that the meeting covered various dimensions of bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest, and potential cooperation in different sectors. Welcoming Ambassador Delpitiya to the Ministry, Minister Khanal noted that Sri Lanka is an old and close friend of Nepal.

He stated that the Government of Nepal is committed to elevating the relationship between the two countries in the fields of tourism, culture, and trade in the coming days. 

In response, Ambassador Delpitiya expressed her commitment to playing an active role in further strengthening the diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries during her tenure. High-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present at the meeting.
