Three killed in separate road accidents across Nepal

Kathmandu. Three people have died in separate road accidents in Kathmandu and other locations. The fatalities occurred in incidents reported in Kathmandu, Morang, and Dhanusha.

In Kathmandu, 30-year-old Samjhana Shrestha, a resident of Naradevi, Kathmandu, originally from Ramechhap, died after the motorcycle she was riding (Ba. 19 Pa 4541) crashed in Babarmahal, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-11, on Wednesday night.

She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the National Trauma Center. The motorcycle driver and two other passengers are currently receiving treatment at the National Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, and KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, respectively.

The accident occurred when the motorcycle collided with a parked scooter (Ba. 91 Pa 2679) and subsequently lost control, hitting another motorcycle (Pra. 3-02-009 Pa 3928).

Separately, in Morang, 69-year-old Balram Biswas, a resident of Budhiganga Rural Municipality-7, died on Wednesday evening after being struck by a city safari (Pra. 1-02-04 Ha 0116) while cycling in Sisawani.

He passed away during treatment at Birat Teaching Hospital. Police have taken the city safari driver into custody.

Meanwhile, in Dhanusha, 60-year-old Chaudhary Mandal Khatwe, a resident of Videha Municipality-5, died on Thursday morning after being hit by an unidentified motorcycle in Ekrahi Tole, Videha Municipality-6.

He died while undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur. Police are currently searching for the absconding motorcycle and its driver. Authorities have stated that investigations into all these incidents are ongoing.
