Home Minister Gurung holds meeting with Prime Minister Balen Shah

Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, who held discussions with security chiefs until late last night, met with Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) today, Wednesday.

The Minister's secretariat stated that a meeting between Home Minister Gurung and Prime Minister Shah is currently underway at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

'The two have been in discussion for about 20 minutes,' said an aide to Minister Gurung. 'We do not know the exact subject of the discussion, but it must be regarding peace, security, and good governance.'

Previously, on Tuesday, Minister Gurung held a nearly five-hour meeting with the IGP of Nepal Police, the Home Secretary, and the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu.

Minister Gurung is facing criticism following the public disclosure of his partnership with intermediary businessman Deepak Bhatta and his shareholdings in companies associated with him.
