Ministers mandated to respond to parliamentary queries within 7 days

Kathmandu. Ministers are now required to provide responses to issues raised by lawmakers during the emergency, zero, and special hours of the House of Representatives within 7 days.

The draft of the House of Representatives Rules of Procedure includes a provision requiring responses to be delivered within 7 days. While ruling party lawmakers had pushed for a 15-day deadline, the insistence of opposition parties ensured that the previous arrangement was maintained.

Previously, the House of Representatives Rules of Procedure 2079 also mandated that responses to issues raised by lawmakers during emergency, zero, and special hours must be provided within 7 days.
