Court Adjourns Divorce Proceedings for South Indian Superstar Joseph Vijay

Chennai. The divorce proceedings between South Indian film superstar and recent political entrant Joseph Vijay and his wife Sangeeta Sornalingam will take more time to conclude. The family court in Chengalpattu, Chennai, has adjourned the hearing until mid-June.

According to an ANI report, the case, listed fourth on Judge Shashikala's bench, saw a brief hearing before the court set the next date for June 15. The court has issued a strict directive for both Vijay and Sangeeta to appear in person at the next hearing. 

Vijay's lawyer had requested permission for him to appear via video conferencing, citing his busy schedule with political activities and election campaigning. However, the court rejected the request and insisted on physical presence.

Married in 1999, Vijay and Sangeeta have two children. Long considered an ideal couple in the South Indian film industry, their dispute became public when Sangeeta filed for divorce. Sangeeta has cited irreconcilable differences and other personal reasons for seeking a legal separation.

This high-profile case has drawn significant interest from fans and the media. The legal battle in his personal life has gained further attention, especially as it coincides with Vijay's entry into active politics following the announcement of his new political party.
