Nepal Weather Update: Partial Influence of Westerly and Local Winds Continues

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, the mountainous regions of the country are generally cloudy, while the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are experiencing partial cloud cover. The weather remains mainly clear in the rest of the country. 

This afternoon, the mountainous regions will remain generally cloudy. Partial cloud cover is expected in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi Province and other hilly areas, while the weather will remain mainly clear in the remaining Terai regions. 

There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous regions of the country. 

Hot days are expected in the Terai, valleys, and gorges of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, with a potential heatwave in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, the mountainous regions will see partial cloud cover, while the weather will remain mainly clear in the hilly and Terai regions. The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
