According to Superintendent of Police Saroj Paudel of the District Police Office, Bardiya, the ambulance (Lumbini Province BAA 0305), traveling from Kohalpur, Banke to Rajapur, Bardiya, struck the victims this morning in Tulapur, Gulariya Municipality-7. The deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Bhumi Lamichhane and his approximately seven-year-old grandson, Rihans, both residents of Gulariya Municipality-5.

Police stated that the victims were on their way to a yoga camp when they were hit by the speeding ambulance. Lamichhane was also a yoga instructor.

Lamichhane's 50-year-old wife, Sita, and another local, 65-year-old Surya Upadhyay, were injured in the accident. Both are currently undergoing treatment at the Nepalgunj Nursing Home.

Police Inspector Prakash Singh Karki of the District Police Office, Bardiya, confirmed that the ambulance and its driver have been taken into custody for further investigation.
