Partial influence of westerly and local winds across Nepal, light rain and snowfall expected

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that Nepal is currently experiencing a partial influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, along with other mountainous areas, are generally cloudy. The Terai regions of Madhesh and Koshi are experiencing partial cloud cover.

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi Province, will remain generally cloudy, while the Terai regions will see partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by lightning in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Hot weather conditions are expected in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in some other areas.

Tonight, the mountainous regions of the country will be generally cloudy, the hilly regions will have partial cloud cover, and the weather in the Terai regions will remain mainly clear. The Department has indicated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
