Medical Entrepreneur Durga Prasai Accuses Government of Exploiting Citizens

Kathmandu. Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has accused the government of looting poor citizens. While presenting his views on contemporary political issues during a press conference, Prasai alleged that the parliament has become devoid of an opposition.

He stated that although there were expectations for the Harka Sampang-led Shram Sanskriti Party to act as an opposition and raise concerns, it joined the government by accepting the Deputy Speaker position, leaving the parliament without an opposition. He further alleged that the opposition parties are unable to speak out even as the government exploits the poor.

Prasai remarked that all political parties are in crisis following the election results, with some on the verge of splitting, which prevents them from advocating for the citizens. He added that the government's development efforts are limited to social media.

Taking an aggressive stance against Balen Shah, he noted that even though he had suggested remaining silent for three months, he was compelled to speak out. He expressed his willingness to support the government if it commits to establishing a Hindu nation and repealing the SPP and MCC agreements.

He drew the government's attention to the fact that the DDC has yet to pay 9 billion rupees owed to farmers. He also pointed out that while the government promises free education and healthcare, it has failed to pay 19 billion rupees in health insurance funds.
