Gagan Thapa Urges Unity Following Supreme Court Verdict on Nepali Congress Legitimacy

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has stated that the Supreme Court's verdict regarding party legitimacy should be viewed as an opportunity to foster unity and strengthen the party. Sharing his views on Facebook following the court's decision, Thapa described the ruling not as a 'victory or defeat' for any individual, but as a triumph of procedure, process, and democratic practice.

Emphasizing that the path forward is a collective journey to rebuild the party, Thapa appealed to all party members and supporters, both at home and abroad, to play a responsible and positive role.

Acknowledging that his role as a leader is critical in the unification process, Thapa stated, 'As General Secretary, I am clear that the greatest responsibility in this process lies with me, and I will work actively accordingly.'

Noting that the process for the 15th General Convention of the Congress has already begun, Thapa stressed the need to make this convention a cornerstone for the party's transformation and strengthening. He asserted that the Congress must play a leading role in building a prosperous Nepal by integrating the aspirations of the new generation with the contributions of the veterans.
