One dead, four injured in motorcycle collision in Baitadi

Dhangadhi. One person has died and four others have been injured in a collision between two motorcycles in Baitadi.

The accident occurred on Friday afternoon at approximately 1:30 PM on the Dholyamod-Purchaudi road section in Surnaya Rural Municipality-8.

According to District Police Office Baitadi spokesperson and Police Inspector Suraj Singh, a motorcycle with license plate Sudurpashchim Province 01-013-P-4246, traveling from Shribhawar towards Purchaudi, collided with another motorcycle with license plate Se 5 P 4717 coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Janak Luhar of Surnaya-8. Police Inspector Singh confirmed that he was the rider of one of the motorcycles.

The police stated that 24-year-old Amir Kadayat and 39-year-old Hikmat Kunwar from Purchaudi-5, along with 35-year-old Jay Bahadur Chand and 36-year-old Keshav Bahadur Chand from Sigas Rural Municipality-9, were injured in the accident.

Given their condition, Amir and Hikmat have been sent to Dadeldhura Hospital for further treatment. According to the police, Amir is in moderate condition, while the other injured individuals are in stable condition. The police have stated that they are conducting further investigations into the incident.
