Mayor Balen Shah Extends Mother's Day Greetings, Emphasizing Maternal and National Pride

Kathmandu. Mayor Balen Shah has extended his heartfelt greetings and respect to all mothers on the occasion of Mata Tirtha Aunsi, also known as Mother's Day. Through social media on Friday, he stated that the glory of both one's mother and the motherland is higher than heaven itself.

'Janani Janmabhumishcha Swargadapi Gariyasi' (Mother and motherland are greater than heaven), quoting this classical verse, Mayor Shah described a mother's lap as warm and her feet as sacred as a pilgrimage site. Portraying mothers as the source of creation and unique examples of love and sacrifice, he wished all mothers a long and healthy life.

In his message, he honored mothers as the first teachers in life and the source of eternal affection. Expressing his hope that their actions as children would always make their mothers proud, Mayor Shah stated, 'May we always be able to make our mothers smile, and may our mothers always take pride in our deeds as their children.'

Connecting maternal devotion with patriotism in his greetings, he added, 'O Mother! I wish to see Mother Nepal smile.'
