Partial influence of westerly and local winds brings weather changes to Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, Nepal is experiencing the partial influence of westerly and local winds. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the possibility of cloud cover and rainfall has increased across various parts of the country.

Currently, clouds are primarily observed in the Himalayan region, while the hilly areas are experiencing partial cloud cover. The Department stated that the weather in the Terai districts remains generally clear. Light rain and snowfall are occurring in some places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi Province, as well as in the Himalayan areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Throughout the day, clouds are expected in the hilly regions of Koshi Province and other Himalayan areas of the country. Other hilly regions are also likely to see partial cloud cover. In the Terai, the forecast predicts sunny conditions and clear weather.

According to the Department, there is a possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi Province today. Additionally, light rain and snowfall may occur in one or two places in the hilly terrain of Gandaki Province and other Himalayan regions.

As this change in weather may have a minor impact on daily life in the hilly and Himalayan regions, the public is advised to remain cautious.
