Deepak Gyawali Appointed Editor of Ratopati

Kathmandu. Journalist Deepak Gyawali has been appointed as the editor of the online portal Ratopati.com, operated by the 'Ratopati News Network'. The board meeting of the 'Ratopati News Network' held on Monday decided to appoint Gyawali as editor, effective from Baisakh 1.

Accordingly, he was welcomed by Chairperson Bijaya Sharma during a special ceremony held at Ratopati's central office in Bakhundol, Lalitpur, on Tuesday.

Born in Ruru Rural Municipality of Gulmi, Gyawali brings three decades of experience in journalism. Prior to joining Ratopati, he worked in various capacities at media organizations including Himal Khabar Patrika, Samaya (magazine), Rajdhani Daily, Spacetime Daily, Dainik Lumbini, Bhawana Daily, Lumbini Review.com, Radio Lumbini, and RSS. He also served as an expert advisor at the Gorkhapatra Corporation for two years.

With experience ranging from litho and letterpress to modern digital platforms, Gyawali has also been involved in study, research, and training on subjects such as media technology, risk journalism, anti-corruption, and mass communication.

During the welcome program, Chairperson Bijaya Sharma expressed her best wishes for a successful tenure, expressing confidence that Editor Gyawali would fulfill his role while keeping the readers' interests in mind.

Similarly, founder Om Sharma stated that Gyawali's arrival has energized the team and expressed confidence that the organization will gain further momentum. He noted that journalists should be as vigilant as firefighters and urged all colleagues to play their part in coordination and collaboration with the editor.

Likewise, Managing Director Arjun Pant mentioned that the organization has reached this point despite limited resources and expressed confidence that with Gyawali's arrival, the organization will now realize plans that were previously unachievable.

Similarly, Editor-in-Chief Jibendra Simkhada mentioned that Gyawali is his former colleague and expressed confidence that his arrival would enhance the organization's prestige.

Stating that the success of an editor is the success of Ratopati, Simkhada urged colleagues to work with honesty, diligence, and creativity by synthesizing Gyawali's vision with his own.

On this occasion, Editor Deepak Gyawali expressed his gratitude to the management for the new responsibility and committed to playing a role in taking the organization to new heights with the support of all colleagues.

Gyawali said, 'With everyone's support and collaboration, I assure you that I will give the organization a new momentum. During my tenure, we will present even more high-quality and investigative content. Together, through teamwork, we will make Ratopati the best news portal in Nepal.'
