Nepali Congress Leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala Emphasizes Youth Leadership and Reform for New Year 2083

Kathmandu. On the occasion of the New Year 2083, Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala extended his best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad, noting that the past year has brought a new and positive turn in Nepali politics through the growing awareness and activism of the younger generation. Koirala stated that the voices of the youth, heard from social media to the streets, are no longer limited to protest but are now shifting toward leadership and responsibility, which is a welcome development. 

He believes that this interventionist role of the youth has given politics a new direction. Stating that public expectations of the government have soared in the changing environment, he emphasized the need for transparent and accountable leadership that prioritizes action over rhetoric. He clarified that the government's primary responsibility should be to lead the country toward prosperity by maintaining a balance between good governance and development.

Discussing the internal state and future path of the Nepali Congress, leader Koirala claimed that the party remains a significant force in national politics. However, he stated that the party must transform itself and embrace the new generation in accordance with the demands of the changing times. Koirala noted that only by moving forward in unity without abandoning its core values, principles, and ideals can the Congress regain public trust.

Stating that national reconciliation, unity, and cooperation are the paths to the country's progress, he expressed his belief that the New Year will bring positive thinking and new energy to all Nepalis. Wishing for everyone to be inspired to move forward with a resolve to build a prosperous and self-reliant Nepal through collective effort, he also expressed his hope that new opportunities will be created to fulfill everyone's dreams and aspirations.
