RPP Lawmaker Khushbu Oli Files Cyber Complaint Over Character Assassination

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Khushbu Oli has filed a formal complaint with the police, alleging that she is being targeted by malicious propaganda and character assassination on social media. She registered a written complaint at the Nepal Police's Central Cyber Bureau on Monday. 

She stated that several Facebook pages, TikTok accounts, and YouTube channels have been systematically broadcasting baseless and misleading content with the intent to damage her personal and public life. She noted that despite initially warning the individuals involved to cease such activities, they ignored her warnings, forcing her to pursue legal action.

Oli described these activities not as mere criticism or freedom of expression, but as an organized attempt to tarnish her reputation. She expressed confidence that those responsible for cyber abuse and propaganda would face necessary action in accordance with the rule of law.

Expressing her outrage, she remarked that spreading hate has become a form of business in the current era. Through Facebook, she stated that the trend of profiting from hate by damaging someone's life is an unethical and degenerate mindset. She emphasized that such a mentality is a threat to society, cannot be normalized under any circumstances, and demanded action against the perpetrators.
