Nepal-India University Professors' Conference Concludes with Awards Ceremony

Kathmandu. The three-day historic 'Nepal-India University Professors' Conference,' organized by Nai Academy, has concluded following insightful addresses by participating scholars.

During the ceremony, Nai Academy conferred honorary memberships upon Dr. Swami Keshavananda, Dr. Manasagni, Sunita Karki, Dr. Dubasu Chhetri, Basanta Kumar Chaudhary, and Ramchandra Timothy.

On this occasion, Nai Academy Chancellor Indira Prasai honored renowned critic Prof. Dr. Vasudev Tripathi with the 'Nai Pragya Puraskar' and the 'Nepal-India University Professors' Conference Medal.' Subsequently, Dr. Tripathi presented the same awards to 26 scholars from Nepal and India.

The recipients were honored for their contributions to the study, research, and creative promotion of Nepali language and literature, as well as for elevating the stature of the 'Nepal-India University Professors' Conference.' Each of these awards carries a cash prize of fifty thousand rupees.

The awardees include Prof. Dr. Rishiram Sharma, Prof. Dr. Kapil Dev Lamichhane, Prof. Dr. Kavita Lama, Prof. Keshav Subedi, Prof. Dr. Krishna Raj Ghatani, Prof. Khemraj Joshi (posthumous), Prof. Dr. Chakrapani Khanal, Prof. Dr. Chudamani Bandhu, Prof. Dr. Jangab Chauhan, Dr. Tek Bahadur Chhetri, Prof. Dr. Dayaram Shrestha, Prof. Dr. Diwakar Pradhan, Dr. Daivaki Devi Timsina, Prof. Dr. Pushpa Sharma, Prof. Dr. Bharat Kumar Bhattarai, Prof. Dr. Mahadev Awasthi, Dr. Rajani Kafle Dhakal, Dr. Rajkumar Chhetri, Prof. Dr. Laxman Prasad Gautam, Prof. Dr. Lekh Prasad Niraula, Prof. Shiva Gopal Risal, Dr. Sadhana Pant 'Pratiksha', Dr. Harka Bahadur Shahi, and jointly, Dr. Sanjay Rai and Dr. Aruna Rai.

At the event, Dr. Tripathi also presented the 'Nai Kapil Pragya Puraskar,' each worth twenty-five thousand rupees, to Dr. Ambika Aryal and Dr. Tribhuvan Barai.

Furthermore, the 'Nai Sewa Puraskar,' carrying a cash prize of ten thousand rupees each, was awarded to Ayushman Shakya, Lav Prasad Bhandari, and Suman Karki for their dedicated contributions to the conference and their editorial work on the comprehensive volume titled 'The Role of Universities in Nepal and India in the Development of Nepali Language and Literature.'

The ceremony, chaired by Chancellor Indira Prasai, featured remarks from Prof. Dr. Vasudev Tripathi, 24 professors who hold PhDs in Nepali language and literature, Conference Coordinator Prof. Dr. Mahadev Awasthi, and Member Secretary Narendra Raj Prasai, who highlighted the achievements of the conference.
