Fast bowler Karan KC suspended from Prime Minister Cup match

Kathmandu. Fast bowler Karan KC has been suspended from a match in the Prime Minister Cup. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) stated that he was banned following comments regarding a sensitive matter involving an umpire. CAN issued a press release on Sunday announcing the suspension.

During the Prime Minister Cup One Day tournament, Karan had posted a comment on social media asking how many matches a player would be banned for if they accidentally hit an umpire. Following criticism of his remarks, Karan issued an apology on social media. He clarified that the comment was intended as a joke and apologized if it had caused any offense.

CAN has decided to suspend Karan for one Prime Minister Cup match and impose a fine equivalent to 100 percent of his match fee.
