Nepal Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association Condemns Karan KC's Remarks

Kathmandu. The Nepal Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association has expressed serious objection to the remarks made by Nepali national team fast bowler Karan KC.

The association has strongly condemned the tweet made by Karan regarding physical assault on umpires. Following an emergency meeting on Saturday, the association issued a press release demanding strict action against the player (Karan) from the Cricket Association of Nepal.

Karan, a member of the Nepal Police Club and the national team, had asked in a tweet, 'If a player accidentally hits an umpire, for how many matches is that player banned?' The association has termed this question regrettable, stating that it attempts to normalize potential abuse against umpires.

The association concluded that such expressions have caused serious harm to the professional security and self-respect of umpires. It stated that such actions raise questions about the dignity of umpiring and will have a negative impact on the relationship between players and umpires.

The statement reads, 'We have demanded strict action from the Cricket Association of Nepal to discourage such acts.' Association President Mohammad Shafiq Samir Khan stated in the release that the association remains committed to the rights and safety of umpires.
