Kathmandu Metropolitan City Launches Urban Greening Initiative with Potted Flowers

Kathmandu. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has begun placing potted flowers along roadsides. Under the 'Pride Project: My Desire, Beautiful and Green City' program, the Park and Greenery Promotion Project has initiated the installation of these flower pots. 

According to project engineer Sarkardip Shrestha, Bougainvillea flowers have been planted in the area in front of Singha Durbar. These flowers bloom in various colors, including yellow, red, and pink. Concrete pots are being used to ensure the sustainability of the flower-growing initiative.

The Environment Management Department is working on planting, weeding, and watering the plants in the large, permanent concrete pots along the roadsides. Shrestha stated that there is a plan to extend this initiative to the inner city areas next.
