CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli Remains Hospitalized Following Release from Custody

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will remain in the hospital for a few more days for medical treatment.

He was released from police custody today following an investigation based on the report of the high-level commission formed to probe the Gen-Z movement incident. He had been receiving medical treatment in the hospital since his arrest.

Chairman Oli stated that although the government kept him in illegal detention for 13 days with biased and vengeful criminal charges, he was eventually released due to a lack of grounds and evidence to prosecute him.

After his release in accordance with the Supreme Court's mandamus, Chairman Oli expressed his gratitude to everyone who raised their voices for his release through social media. Based on the government's decision to implement the commission's report, police had taken Chairman Oli into custody from Gundu, Bhaktapur, on Chaitra 14.
