Police release KP Sharma Oli on bail after 13 days of detention

Kathmandu. On the 13th day of his arrest, police have released KP Sharma Oli on bail. The former Prime Minister, who is undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, has been handed over to his wife, Radhika Shakya.

SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, told RatoPati that Oli was released into the custody of his wife, Radhika Shakya, with the condition that he must appear whenever required during the investigation. He was arrested by the police on Chaitra 14 following a recommendation for criminal investigation by the commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, which was formed to probe the incidents of Bhadau 23 and 24.

Although the police have released Oli from custody, doctors will decide on his discharge from the hospital.
