NRNA Spain Launches 'Nepal House' Project with Spiritual Festival

Barcelona. Addressing the challenges faced by the Nepali diaspora in Spain regarding the lack of proper facilities for funeral rites and rituals, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Spain has initiated the 'Nepal House' construction campaign. To support this initiative, a grand 5-day spiritual festival is being held, a first of its kind in Europe.

According to NRNA Spain President Santosh Shrestha, the 'Nepal House' project was envisioned to provide religious, cultural, and social support to Nepalis living in Spain. It is expected to provide a conducive environment for conducting funeral rites and rituals, especially during difficult times.

The spiritual festival began on April 5 and is scheduled to run until April 10. Financial coordinator Deepak Basnet reported that 171,975 rupees have been collected through the festival so far.

Renowned speaker Pravin Dinbandhu Pokharel from Nepal has arrived to deliver discourses based on the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and Buddhist teachings. The event features daily bhajans and spiritual discourses, which are expected to unite the Nepali community religiously and spiritually.

According to the organizers, once completed, 'Nepal House' will serve as a common religious and cultural center for Nepalis in Spain. It is also believed that such programs will further contribute to the preservation of Nepali identity and culture in the future.
