CIAA files corruption case against Bir Hospital accounts officer

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Dhundi Raj Dahal, an accounts officer working at the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Bir Hospital, Kathmandu.

On Wednesday, the commission filed the corruption case against him at the Special Court in Kathmandu, claiming a recovery of 93,850 rupees.

Based on a complaint that he was accepting bribes from various supplier companies and contractors for processing bill payments and hiding the money in his office, a team deployed from Tangal took Accounts Officer Dahal into custody with 120,850 rupees.

‘During the investigation, it was established that Accounts Officer Dahal of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Bir Hospital, with the malicious intent of gaining illegal benefits while processing payments from the hospital's internal sources, systematically negotiated with representatives of various companies/firms and facilitated payment processes in exchange for bribes, ultimately accepting 93,850 rupees from service seekers, leading to the filing of the corruption case,’ stated a press release issued by CIAA Assistant Spokesperson Ganesh Bahadur Adhikari.
