Nepali Congress Urges Government to Address Fuel Price Hikes and Food Shortages

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has drawn the government's attention to the urgent need to formulate plans to address issues including fuel price hikes, food shortages, and market inflation.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, party lawmaker Prakash Singh Karki stated that the government should not delay in creating short-term and long-term plans to resolve these issues while considering the geopolitical situation. Lawmaker Karki also warned that there is a risk of Nepal becoming a playground for foreign interference, and the government needs to proceed with caution regarding this matter.

He said, 'Considering the current geopolitical situation, there is a need for the government's serious attention to the various problems and challenges that may arise. I believe the government needs to identify such problems and make preparations. It is necessary to identify short-term and long-term disasters that may occur in the country. Controlling fuel price hikes, food shortages, and market inflation is today's priority. I want to draw the government's serious attention to this.'

Lawmaker Karki also emphasized that the government needs to work seriously to solve the existing problems in the country.
