Mithila Municipality Begins Literacy Data Collection Drive

Janakpurdham. Mithila Municipality in Dhanusha has begun collecting data on literate and illiterate residents starting today. The municipality stated that the data collection drive is aimed at declaring the municipality fully literate.

Sita Kafle, head of the municipality's education branch, stated that the work is being carried out by focusing on six of the 12 indicators of literacy as per the Literacy Assessment Guidelines 2070.

Kafle mentioned that 25 individuals have been provided with the necessary training for this task, and all ward offices and schools within the municipality have been requested to play a coordinating role.

She further added that students under the municipality have been mobilized to go door-to-door to assist in the data collection process. According to Kafle, citizens can be declared literate if they are taught to read and write based on six key points out of the 12 specified by the Center for Education and Human Resource Development.
