Task Force for Constitution Amendment Discussion Paper to Hold First Meeting

Kathmandu. The first meeting of the 'Constitution Amendment Discussion Paper Preparation Task Force-2082', coordinated by Asim Shah, Chief Political Advisor to Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah, is set to take place. The Prime Minister's Secretariat stated that the meeting will be held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.

Following the Cabinet decision on Chaitra 16, the "Constitution Amendment Discussion Paper Preparation Task Force-2082" was formed under the coordination of Chief Political Advisor Asim Shah.

The task force includes members Mohan Acharya from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Dr. Bhishma Adhikari (Constituent Assembly member and CPN-UML Central Office Secretary) from the CPN (UML), Dev Prasad Gurung (Constituent Assembly member and former Law Minister) from the Nepal Communist Party, Gyanendra Shahi (Parliamentary Party Leader) from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and Manoj Bhatta (General Secretary) from the Rastriya Janamorcha.

Internal discussions are reportedly ongoing regarding the representatives to be sent by the Nepali Congress, Shram Sanskriti Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal, and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Nepal. The parties are expected to finalize their members for the task force today.

Pushkar Sapkota, Law Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, and Indira Dahal, Secretary of the Nepal Law Commission, are also serving as members of the task force.

Liladhar Subedi, Chief of the Law and Judgment Implementation Division at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, serves as the member secretary of the task force.
