Surkhet police arrest man for multi-million rupee job scam

Surkhet. Surkhet police have arrested an individual for allegedly swindling over 10 million rupees by promising to secure passes in various examinations, including the Public Service Commission. The arrested individual is 22-year-old Pawan BK, a native of Bhagawatimai Rural Municipality-7, Dailekh, currently residing in Birendranagar Municipality-12.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Jung Budhthapa of the District Police Office, Surkhet, the arrest was made based on a complaint filed by a victim named Jaisara Thapa.

'He used to commit fraud by claiming he could ensure success in interviews and written examinations for the Public Service Commission, the police, and other sectors,' he told RatoPati.

Following a search operation on Tuesday, police found Pawan hiding in Birendranagar Municipality-6. 'We are investigating the fraud case,' said DSP Budhthapa. 'Although there is currently one formal complaint, it appears there are many others who have been defrauded by this individual.'

He added that efforts are underway to bring the other victims forward. 'Upon reviewing his bank statements, it appears that over 10 million rupees have been deposited into his account,' he added. 'We estimate that many more people have been defrauded. Further details will be revealed through ongoing investigations.'
