Karnali Province Government Announces Six Additional Public Holidays for 2083 BS

Surkhet. The Karnali Province government has decided to grant six additional public holidays in the upcoming year 2083 BS. The decision was made during a Council of Ministers meeting held today at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Birendranagar, Surkhet, according to Karnali Province government spokesperson and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Binod Kumar Shah.

“The provincial government has decided to grant public holidays on Chaitra 12 (Rice Day) and Ashoj 22 for the Chandannath Temple pole-carrying festival,” he stated, “However, this applies only to Jumla district. For the National Rice Day on Ashar 15, a public holiday has been granted for the other nine districts of the province, excluding Jumla,” spokesperson Shah explained.

According to him, public holidays will be observed throughout the province on Saun 1 for Saune Sankranti and Deuda festival, Bhadau 4 for Province Foundation and Martyrs' Day, and Kartik 8 for Kojagrat Purnima.

Furthermore, spokesperson Shah noted that today's meeting also decided to amend Schedule 2 of the Provincial Government (Work Division) Regulations, 2074, and publish the notice in the Provincial Gazette.
