Nepal Layer Poultry Association Increases Egg Prices

Kathmandu. The Nepal Layer Poultry Association has once again increased the selling price of eggs. According to the latest decision by the association's executive committee, the price hike has come into effect starting today.

Compared to the prices that were effective from Chaitra 16, the price of all types of eggs has now increased by 15 rupees per crate.  

Along with the price of eggs, transportation and packaging costs have also increased. The additional fee for freight, cartons, and crates incurred while transporting eggs from Chitwan to various depots across the country has been increased by 5 rupees, rising from 140 rupees to 145 rupees.

According to the association's secretary, Madan Pokharel, this new rate has been implemented following in-depth discussions among egg-producing farmers and the decision of the executive committee.

 The association stated that the price adjustment was made keeping in mind the production costs of farmers and the market situation.
