Locals Protest in Pokhara Following Demolition of Structures Near Phewa Lake

Pokhara. Locals have staged protests after the Pokhara Metropolitan City deployed bulldozers to demolish temporary structures built near Phewa Lake. On Saturday morning, as the metropolitan city began tearing down the structures as part of its campaign to remove encroachments, affected residents blocked roads in protest. 

Locals are outraged, claiming that the demolition has severely impacted their businesses and livelihoods. The protest has also disrupted traffic flow.

While the metropolitan city maintains that the campaign is intended to protect Phewa Lake and control encroachment, the locals have expressed dissatisfaction, arguing that the structures were demolished without any alternative arrangements being made.
