Weather Update: Western Disturbance and Local Winds Impact Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system and local winds. As a result, the weather is generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Lumbini, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the rest of the country remains partly cloudy.

This afternoon, the weather will be generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, including the country's mountainous regions, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere. There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. 

Light rain and snowfall with lightning are possible in one or two places in the Terai region of Sudurpashchim province and the remaining mountainous and hilly areas. Strong winds are also expected in some places in the Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, the weather will be generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country. There is a possibility of moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as the mountainous regions of the remaining provinces. 

Light rain and snowfall with lightning are possible in one or two places in the remaining hilly regions and the Terai region of Sudurpashchim province. Strong winds are also expected in some places in the Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
