One dead, two injured in pickup truck accident in Panchthar

Panchthar. One person has died in a pickup truck accident in Panchthar. The owner of the vehicle, Abhas Mabo, a resident of Hilihang Rural Municipality-5, died when the pickup truck (Me 1 Cha 6029) met with an accident at Banchredanda in Hilihang-5.

According to the District Police Office, the pickup truck, which was heading towards Subhang from Dopkile on the Mechi Highway carrying broom grass, lost control at a bend and fell about 60 meters off the road at 2:20 PM today. The 24-year-old Mabo, who was critically injured in the accident, was declared dead by doctors upon arrival at the District Hospital, Phidim.

Sandip Uwarkoti from the same area and the driver of the pickup, Krishna Bahadur Baraili from Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-6, Jhapa, were also injured in the accident. Deputy Superintendent of Police Anish Kumar Karna of the District Police Office stated that the injured have been brought to the District Hospital for treatment.
