Police form investigation team following death of 22-year-old woman in Banke

Banke. A five-member investigation team has been formed to probe the death of 22-year-old Sirjana Budhamagar, who died after being set on fire in Koreanpur, Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-12, Banke.

The team is led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Patali of the District Police Office. DSP Patali stated that the team will assist in ensuring an objective and impartial investigation. According to him, the team will collect evidence and facts to submit a report to Superintendent of Police (SP) Angur GC within 10 days.

“A single investigation officer might not be sufficient, so working as a group can lead to a result-oriented investigation,” said DSP Patali. The team includes an inspector and a sub-inspector from the District Police Office.

Police found Budhamagar in a burnt condition on the road behind Nepalgunj Nursing Home on Saturday night. She was rushed to Bheri Hospital for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Sirjana had been living with Mohammad Arif Dhapali for a long time. Police have arrested Dhapali, along with his mother and sister, on charges of involvement in the incident. Dhapali was apprehended in Bahraich, India, while the others were arrested in Nepalgunj. Police stated that two other individuals named in the complaint filed by the victim's family remain at large.
