Nepali Congress MP Demands Impartial Investigation into Bhadau 23 and 24 Incidents

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Bhishmaraj Aangdembe, representing the main opposition party, has demanded that the incident of Bhadau 24 be investigated with the same rigor as the incident of Bhadau 23. Speaking during the House of Representatives meeting, Aangdembe expressed surprise that the investigation commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, formed by the government, failed to complete its inquiry into the Bhadau 24 incident despite receiving multiple extensions.

‘Just as the incident of Bhadau 23 was investigated, the incident of Bhadau 24 should also be probed,’ Aangdembe stated. ‘However, the government-formed commission claimed it lacked time despite repeated extensions; why did that happen?’

He emphasized that the Nepali Congress remains committed to an impartial investigation into both the Bhadau 23 and 24 incidents. ‘There must be a fair investigation into both days,’ he said. ‘The Congress was, is, and will continue to be in favor of ensuring that no guilty person escapes and no innocent person is implicated.’ 

He further noted that although the Congress changed its leadership through a special general convention in response to the demands of the time, the limited timeframe made it difficult to communicate these changes effectively to the public. 

He asserted that the country must move forward in a way that prevents anyone from destroying it. He added that the party will support the government in its positive endeavors while remaining vigilant against any wrongdoing.
