Lalitpur Metropolitan City Launches Environment Van to Curb Pollution

Lalitpur: The Lalitpur Metropolitan City has launched an 'Environment Van' starting Thursday to enhance environmental protection and sanitation management. Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan inaugurated the vehicle during a special ceremony on Chaitra 19.

The initiative is expected to play an active role in controlling rising pollution and maintaining environmental discipline within the metropolis. Through this newly established mechanism, monitoring and enforcement actions against environmental damage will be intensified.

Specifically, the environment police will use this van to patrol various parts of the city, strictly prohibiting open burning and the incineration of plastic materials. The metropolis also stated that the van will be used for regular monitoring of vehicles emitting excessive smoke and industries operating in violation of environmental standards.

The deployment of the environment van will facilitate immediate action against those littering, causing noise pollution, and damaging roadside trees. Unauthorized advertisements and posters that degrade the city's aesthetics will also be strictly controlled.

City Police Chief Sitaram Hachethu stated that this campaign will significantly contribute to realizing the goal of building a clean, green, and organized Lalitpur. With the metropolis deploying environment police with special authority and resources, those violating environmental standards will now face strict enforcement.

The metropolis claims this initiative will be a milestone in securing the rights of citizens to health and a clean city. The local administration has appealed to all residents to support this effort and keep their surroundings clean.
