National Innovation Center Faces Monthly Salary Burden of 2.5 Million Rupees

Kathmandu. It has been revealed that the National Innovation Center, led by Member of the House of Representatives Mahabir Pun, incurs a monthly expenditure of 2.5 million rupees solely on salaries.

Pun shared this information by posting a supporter's statement on social media. According to MP Pun, he is compelled to sell books to sustain these expenses.

The statement shared by Pun reads: 'What else should one do if not sell books? Read the sole reason why Mahabir Pun has been selling books, both before and after becoming an MP: Currently, 83 youths are working at the National Innovation Center and the Pokhara ICT Innovation Lab, with 45 more at the Birgunj Agricultural Tools Factory. Additionally, 10 to 15 people are doing internships. We have to provide daily meals and snacks for about 90 people, and the monthly salary for full-time staff alone costs around 2.5 million rupees. A lot of money is spent on purchasing machinery and raw materials for researchers and innovators. Money donated by the general public is not enough. That is why I am forced to sell books.
