All-Party Meeting Underway at Federal Parliament Secretariat

Kathmandu. A meeting of the political parties represented in the Federal Parliament is currently underway at the invitation of the Federal Parliament Secretariat. The meeting is being held in the office of the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Padma Prasad Pandey, at Singha Durbar. Representatives of the parliamentary parties, government officials, and Federal Parliament Secretariat staff are participating in this first formal meeting following the election held on Falgun 21.

The meeting was convened by the Federal Parliament Secretariat to reach a consensus on how to conduct the upcoming parliamentary session, which President Ramchandra Paudel has summoned for tomorrow at 2:00 PM upon the government's recommendation.

Six parties have secured representation in the House of Representatives following the election: the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Communist Party of Nepal, Shram Sanskriti Party, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party. Independent candidate Mahabir Pun has also won the election from Myagdi.
