Construction of Integrated Dalit Settlement Begins in Rautahat

Rautahat. Construction of another integrated Dalit settlement has begun in Sonarniya, Maulapur Municipality-9, Rautahat.

Chief Administrative Officer Rambabu Sah stated that the project was inaugurated on Wednesday with a ground-breaking ceremony attended by Mayor Rina Kumari Sah, Deputy Mayor Nagendra Yadav, ward chairpersons, other representatives, and local residents.

Previously, integrated Dalit settlements have already been constructed in Maryadpur and Maulapur. The construction of the new settlement in Sonarniya was initiated following the first decision made by Mayor Sah.

According to the municipality, the project, which had an estimated cost of 68.7 million rupees, has been contracted for 43.9 million rupees. The goal is to complete the construction within one year. The settlement in Sonarniya is expected to benefit approximately 30 to 40 families.

The project is being executed by Prisa Sristi Shriram JV, Sarlahi. The agreement stipulates that the construction work should be completed within approximately 15 months.

The municipality stated that along with the construction of the integrated Dalit settlement, it has been providing services such as taxes, education, and healthcare free of charge. This program is being observed with interest by other local levels.
