Iranian Official Issues Stern Warning to Trump Over Strait of Hormuz

Tehran. Ebrahim Azizi, head of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, has issued a stern warning targeting former US President Donald Trump. In a post on the social media platform X, he stated, 'The Strait of Hormuz will certainly remain open, but not for you; it will only be open to those who follow Iran's new rules.'

This strait is considered one of the most important maritime routes in the world. A significant amount of oil reaches the global market through this passage. Tensions have long existed between Iran and Western countries regarding the use of this route.

Azizi, in his statement, referred to the period following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, declaring that '47 years of hospitality have now ended forever.' He also sarcastically remarked that while Trump's dream of regime change has finally been fulfilled, it is limited only to maritime regulations.

Meanwhile, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency, the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee has approved a plan to collect fees from ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
