Nepali Congress Sudurpashchim General Secretary Nar Narayan Shah Announces Boycott of Party Events

Kathmandu. Nar Narayan Shah, General Secretary of the Nepali Congress in Sudurpashchim Province, has announced that he will no longer participate in any formal or informal party programs. On Wednesday, he stated on social media that he has decided to refrain from engaging in party activities moving forward.

'In this sensitive, complex, and challenging situation, until the entire Nepali Congress stands united, I have decided with a heavy heart that I am compelled to no longer participate in any of the party's formal or informal programs,' Shah wrote on Facebook.

Shah also mentioned that he is deeply saddened and pained to be forced into such a decision regarding the Congress, a party with a family history spanning nearly eight decades. He expressed concern over the current state of the party, which carries a long political legacy.

He further noted that if the party reaches the brink of division, it will certainly deal a major blow to the loyalty of cadres who believe in nationalism, democracy, and socialism. Shah urged everyone not to play with the party's established legacy.

'Regardless of what anyone may think, from now on, I only wish to live as a pure Nepali Congress member, and I humbly request that no one misinterpret this matter,' Shah wrote.

Shah, who was a direct candidate from Kailali-5 in the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, has also requested that his decision not be compared to the election results.
