Nepal Weather Update: Influence of Westerly and Local Winds Continues

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and Lumbini provinces are experiencing generally cloudy conditions.   

Today, the mountainous regions of the country will remain generally cloudy, while the hilly and Terai regions will see partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by lightning in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, and in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, the mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the mountainous regions will experience partial cloud cover. The weather in the hilly and Terai regions will remain mainly clear. 

The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
