Quiet Atmosphere Prevails at Singha Durbar Amidst Youth-Led Governance

Kathmandu. In the context of the country gaining youth leadership following the 'Gen Z' movement, the administration led by Balen Shah is currently in operation. While the 15-member cabinet manages the ministries, the usual hustle and bustle seen previously at Singha Durbar is noticeably absent.

In earlier times, when governments were led by parties like the Nepali Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), the appointment of ministers was typically followed by a crowd of well-wishers and congratulatory visitors at Singha Durbar. However, that scene has now disappeared.

Although there is a tradition of ministries being crowded during the first week after ministers take charge, the ministries now appear largely deserted. The crowds of party workers, leaders, and relatives that used to frequent Singha Durbar are now replaced mostly by individuals coming for specific official business rather than casual visits.
