Western and Local Winds Affecting Weather Patterns Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Meteorology has stated that Western and local winds currently have a partial influence over Nepal. Due to this influence, there is generally cloudy weather in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces. The weather in the rest of the areas is mainly clear. 

This afternoon, there will be generally cloudy skies in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, as well as in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, while the Terai region will experience partly cloudy conditions. There is a possibility of moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning and hailstorms in some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi province and the rest of the country, and in a few places in the remaining areas.

Tonight, there will be generally cloudy skies in the Himalayan regions of Koshi province and the rest of the country. The hilly regions will be partly cloudy, while the Terai region will remain mainly clear.

There is a possibility of light rainfall with lightning and snowfall in one or two places in the Himalayan regions of Koshi province, as well as Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
