Four Secretary Positions Vacant in Nepal's Civil Service

Kathmandu. Four positions in the Special Class (Secretary) of the civil service have become vacant. The web portal of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers shows that four secretary posts are currently empty.

According to opmcm.gov.np, there is currently one vacant secretary position each in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, and one secretary position in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.

Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Ram Prasad Ghimire, went on mandatory retirement on Falgun 10. Since then, no promotion to the secretary level has taken place.

Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Keshav Sharma, went on mandatory retirement on Chaitra 9.

The post of Secretary for Animal Husbandry is vacant after Secretary Govinda Sharma was transferred to the Ministry of Forests.  

Similarly, one secretary position is vacant in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.

The Government of Nepal has maintained 71 sanctioned posts at the secretary level. Among them, there are currently only 67 secretaries.
