Supreme Court Schedules Hearing on Habeas Corpus Petition Filed Against Former PM KP Sharma Oli

Kathmandu. A hearing has been scheduled in the bench of Supreme Court Justice Meghraj Pokharel for the habeas corpus petition filed on behalf of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The petition, filed on Sunday demanding immediate release claiming unlawful detention, is scheduled for hearing on Monday.

Radhika Shakya filed the petition on behalf of Oli, who was arrested for investigation into the incidents of the 'Janjati' (Indigenous Peoples') movement on Bhadra 23 and 24.

The Investigation Commission had recommended filing a case against them, holding them responsible for the crackdown during the Janjati movement on Bhadra 23 and 24. Based on the Investigation Commission's report, the current government arrested the then Prime Minister Oli on Saturday.
