Security Guard Injured in Clash Following Scuffle Between Police and CPN-UML Cadres in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. A security guard was injured in an attack by CPN-UML cadres who were attempting to enter the government office premises in Babar Mahal following a scuffle with the police.

The angry cadres attacked and beat the security guard for preventing them from entering the office.

The incident occurred this afternoon in the Babar Mahal area following a clash between the police and CPN-UML cadres. During the scuffle and subsequent stampede, some CPN-UML cadres tried to enter the government office premises. In the process, the security guard (identity yet to be confirmed) stationed at the main gate tried to stop them from entering, leading to an organized attack on him by the enraged cadres.

The security guard sustained a head injury due to the beating.

The injured security guard was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Detailed information regarding his health condition is yet to be received.

Following the incident, additional security personnel have been deployed at the scene. Police have stated that they have initiated an investigation to identify the individuals involved in the attack and take action.
